Real Madrid have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante next year.

According to a report from Defensa Central, N’Golo Kante has been offered to Real Madrid on a free transfer. However, the Spanish giants have turned down the opportunity to sign the Chelsea midfielder next year.

Real Madrid have been linked with a number of potential free agents in recent months. But the Spanish giants have their eyes set on signing Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez instead to bolster their midfield unit.

Chelsea midfielder Kante will be out of contract at the end of the season. And the Blues have not been able to agree on a contract extension with him yet. The 31-year-old has been an exceptional servant for the Premier League giants since joining them. But he has struggled with persistent injury problems over the past year and has not been able to hit top form for the Blues.

It is evident that Frenchman is in the twilight years of his career, and it makes sense for Chelsea to move him on and bring in a younger alternative. Kante has been linked with a number of European clubs in recent weeks, including Real Madrid’s bitter rivals Barcelona. And it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Real Madrid will need to bring in central midfield reinforcements, especially with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in their 30s. Bellingham and Fernandez have been mentioned as potential targets, and it remains to be seen whether the Spanish giants can pull off the signings in the coming months.

Bellingham has already established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world at the age of 19. But he has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League club Liverpool in recent weeks.

On the other hand, Enzo Fernandez has impressed at Benfica, and he has been outstanding for Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup as well. The 21-year-old has a massive future ahead of him and a move to Real Madrid would be a major step up in his career.

Both Bellingham and Fernandez are likely to cost a lot of money, and it would be quite surprising if the Spanish giants managed to pull off both transfers in the summer. As for Kante, it will be interesting to see how his fortunes shape up amid uncertainties surrounding him at Chelsea.
