Real Madrid front-runners to sign Endrick

La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly in the pole position to land 16-year-old Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick, a target for Chelsea.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Endrick is closer to joining Real Madrid than any of his other suitors. The 16-year-old prodigy is also a target for Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain. Meanwhile, Palmeiras will demand €60 million to part ways with the young striker.

Endrick is on top of the world at the tender age of 16. One of the most promising young attackers in the game, the Brazilian whizkid has been racking up high-profile suitors by the week since bursting into the limelight following his exploits at the Copinha. And he has already broken into the first-team squad at Palmeiras.

The 16-year-old featured heavily in the season’s final stretch, scoring three goals and assisting one in seven games. And Endrick’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several European bigwigs. Real Madrid and Chelsea are two of his prospective suitors.

Recent reports had claimed that Real Madrid had been preparing an offer to sign the teenage prodigy. And according to Fabrizio Romano, the Merengues lead the race to land the 16-year-old from Palmeiras. The Italian journalist has revealed that Real Madrid and Palmeiras are conducting official negotiations.

The transfer fee could reach as much as €60 million, including add-ons. But while Real Madrid might be confident about signing Endrick, Chelsea will unlikely throw in the towel yet. The Blues have a dearth of quality options in the offensive unit, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struggling.

Chelsea will likely sign Christopher Nkunku next summer, but Graham Potter will need another long-term offensive solution. Endrick is thus a viable target to bolster the Chelsea squad in two years. And recent reports had suggested that the player is keen on joining the west London club.

Apart from Real Madrid and Chelsea, Endrick is also a target for Paris Saint-Germain. But the reigning La Liga champions are seemingly the front-runners to land the 16-year-old in a deal worth €60 million, including add-ons. Meanwhile, Barcelona will not have a chance to sign the Brazilian wonderkid after recently pulling the plug on his chase.
