Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly keen on signing Ferran Torres from Barcelona in the January transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Ferran Torres is the subject of interest from Juventus. The Serie A giants want to sign the Barcelona forward in the January transfer window. The Blaugrana will demand around €50 million to part ways with the Spanish international.

Ferran Torres has endured a difficult stint thus far since joining Barcelona from Manchester City in January. The 22-year-old took a surprising decision to depart from the Etihad to join a struggling team like the Blaugrana. And his decision has not paid off thus far.

The Spanish forward has been a bit-part player in the 2022/23 season, starting only seven of the 20 games played by Barcelona. But Torres still has a decent tally of five goals and one assist in 751 minutes of game-time. However, his situation has captured the attention of Serie A giants Juventus.

The Italian heavyweights bolstered their offensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing Angel Di Maria and Arkadiusz Milik. But Di Maria is only a short-term investment by Juventus, thus compelling them to scour the market for another attacker. And with Juan Cuadrado well into his thirties, the Serie A giants need a wide-attacking addition.

Ferran Torres has thus emerged as a viable target for Juventus. The 22-year-old is not the only Barcelona forward on the radar of the Bianconeri, with Memphis Depay also featuring on their shortlist. But Barcelona’s asking price to sell Torres in the January transfer window might be an issue for Juventus.

The Catalan giants want €50 million to sell the Spanish international. But the Serie A giants do not have the funds to shell out €50 million to secure the services of Torres. So Juventus might have to identify alternatives for the former Manchester City forward this winter.

Depay might be a candidate, considering he reportedly wants to leave Barcelona as a free agent. Marcus Rashford also features on Juventus’s wishlist. But it will be interesting to see if Juventus can somehow clinch a deal to sign Ferran Torres from Barcelona.
