Arsenal will meet with the representatives of Facundo Torres to discuss a possible summer transfer for the Orlando City winger.

According to Pedro Vazquez, Facundo Torres is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Orlando City winger has emerged as a potential target for the Gunners. And the north London club will meet with the 22-year-old South American winger’s representatives to discuss a summer move.

Arsenal have set the tone in the Premier League and will hope to head into the World Cup break at the top of the table. After astute business in the summer transfer window, Mikel Arteta has visibly improved his squad. The likes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko have settled in well and instantly lifted the energy in the squad.

But the Arsenal squad is incomplete, and Arteta is keen to build on current momentum and bring in vital players in January. There is plenty of work for the Gunners ahead of the next window as they target players in crucial positions.

A winger is considered quite important for squad depth. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have taken on the attacking burden far too much this season. There is a clear need to sign a cover, and a few players, like Yeremy Pino, already feature on their shortlist.

Facundo Torres has been a surprise recent inclusion after links emerged with the Uruguayan international. The Orlando City winger impressed during Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the United States and even scored a goal against Arteta’s side.

Journalist Pedro Vazquez insists the Gunners will meet with Torres’s representatives soon. The tweet also suggests that Arsenal could be targeting a summer move rather than a January transfer for the winger. Maybe Arteta views the winger as a long-term option than someone to fill the squad in the immediate term.

Torres may not be a hugely expensive signing, but still, Arsenal may have to fork out significant sums. He still has a long-term contract with Orlando City after joining them in January 2022. The 22-year-old winger will likely consider moving to the Premier League, and Arsenal will be an attractive destination.

Other names like Mykhaylo Mudryk will be far too expensive for anybody’s liking, let alone Arsenal. Hence, keeping in mind the long-term consequences, the Gunners are eager to bring a young player they can develop.

Torres could be a good signing for Arteta, as he fits their style. Making the switch from the MLS is always tricky, but the 22-year-old South American winger will be eager to adapt and become a future part of this Arsenal team.
