La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly confident of signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, a target for Chelsea and Liverpool.

According to a report by The Sun, confidence is seeping through at Real Madrid in the race to sign Jude Bellingham. The Merengues are optimistic about beating Chelsea and Liverpool to the signature of the Borussia Dortmund midfielder in the 2023 summer transfer window.

Jude Bellingham has become a highly sought-after player since turning professional with Birmingham City FC. The English prodigy was only 16 years old when he became a pivotal figure for the Blues. And his exploits alerted several high-profile clubs before Borussia Dortmund swooped him away.

The 19-year-old has continued going from strength to strength at Signal Iduna Park and has started the 2022/23 season strongly. Bellingham has four goals and two assists in 13 appearances, already making a handy contribution from midfield. And his performances have captured the attention of Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

Real Madrid will look to bring Bellingham in as a long-term replacement for Luka Modric. With the Croat in the twilight of his career, the Merengues need to lay down a succession plan. And recent reports have claimed that Real Madrid will intensify efforts to sign Bellingham in the coming weeks.

The interest from Chelsea stems from N’Golo Kante and Jorginho’s advancing years. In addition, Kante has struggled with fitness issues in the last few years, thus compelling Chelsea to remain in the market for a midfielder. Bellingham is thus a viable target for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, like Real Madrid, Bellingham is a long-term target for Liverpool. And the Reds are keen on landing the English international after facing defeat while pursuing Aurelien Tchouameni. And the 19-year-old could be a solid long-term successor for Thiago Alcantara at Anfield.
