Thanks to two late Harry Kane goals, Tottenham Hotspur managed to emerge victorious in a 5-goal thriller over their London rivals West Ham United.

Harry Kane once again stamped his mark on a London derby with a late match-winning performance to give Spurs three crucial points over West Ham United. The game lived up to its pre-match billing as the Hammers took the lead early on in the game courtesy of an opportunistic header from Michail Antonio. The Englishman scored his 6th headed goal of the campaign for Slaven Bilic’s side as they went ahead early in the first half.

Spurs then equalized just after half-time with a goal from debutant Harry Winks. The youngster made his maiden Premier League appearance for the Spurs last week against Arsenal but was handed his full debut against the Hammers. The 20-year-old followed an impressive first half showing with a goal to account for his notable performances.

Manuel Lanzini then slotted in a 68th minute penalty to send West Ham ahead once more after Vincent Janssen brought down Winston Reid in the Spurs penalty box. It looked like Bilic’s side had salvaged the three points until Heung Min Son and Harry Kane combined twice in the space of two minutes to hand West Ham a demoralizing loss.

Firstly, the South Korean sent in a relatively harmless ball from the edge of the Hammers’ area and forced an approach off Randolph who could only deflect the ball straight into Kane’s path. The England international gleefully slotted it into the open net to equalize for Tottenham in the 89th minute of the encounter. Hardly a few minutes later, Son won a penalty in stoppage time after he was brought down by Nordveidt. Kane duly converted to send White Hart Lane into raptures as they reveled in the match-winning exploits of ‘one of their very own’.
