Bruno Fernandes has been linked with a move away from Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window despite having a season to remember.
The Portuguese international has produced a record-breaking season with the Red Devils, and he helped them return to the UEFA Champions League while clinching the all-time record for most assists in a Premier League season.
There have been rumours of a potential departure, but manager Michael Carrick has said there is no reason for the player to move on and that she is set to continue. Fernandes picked up 21 assists in the Premier League, smashing the assist record set by Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry in the Premier League.
Manchester United simply cannot afford to lose a world-class player like Fernandes, who recently received glowing praise from former teammate Paul Pogba. Carrick was asked how confident he is and how important it would be that Fernandes stays, he said to Sky Sports, “Yeah, he’s such an influence. He’s been a captain and led by example in different ways. I’ve got no reason to think otherwise.
“I love what he’s done and he loves being here. I can see that. I know he wants to start every game because he’s enjoying his football, which is fantastic.”

The 31-year-old has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but he is a top-class player who is at the peak of his career. The move to Saudi Arabia right now would be hugely underwhelming. He should look to continue in Europe for now and move to Saudi Arabia or MLS in future.
