Bernardo Silva comments on future as Barcelona interest revealed

Bernardo Silva is currently a free agent, and he is looking to join a top club this summer after leaving Manchester City.

The former Manchester City midfielder is in demand, and multiple clubs are looking at him. Barcelona have been linked with the player in recent months, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

The Blaugrana could certainly use more creativity and technical ability in the final third, and the outgoing Manchester City skipper, who cost £43 million nearly nine years ago, can slot into multiple midfield roles and help the team improve. The veteran playmaker will help create opportunities for his teammates, and he can score goals as well. Silva has 76 goals and 77 assists for Manchester City.

The player has now revealed in an interview that Barcelona is an option for him but that he has many offers on the table. He will look to make a suitable decision in due course.

“(Barça) is an option I have, but I haven’t made a decision yet,” Silva told reporters after Portugal‘s 2-1 victory over Chile (h/t Marca).

“I have many options and respect for all teams. In the end, I’m going to try to find a team where I’m wanted, where I feel truly wanted. That’s very important, and you’ll know the day I make my decision,” he added.

Barcelona move could be exciting for Silva

The opportunity to play for the Spanish champions could be quite exciting for the midfielder. The 31-year-old has shown his quality in France and England, and he will look to make his mark in Spain now.

Barcelona have won the league title in consecutive seasons, and they will look to win the UEFA Champions League as well. They need more quality, experience and leadership in the team. Signing Silva would be a masterstroke for them. They are working with limited finances, and signing up a player like him for free would be ideal for them as well.

The player has also been linked with Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid in La Liga. It remains to be seen where he ends up. It seems that the player is spoilt for choice. The Portuguese international is a top player who has proven himself at the highest level regularly, and it is no surprise that elite clubs are lining up for him.
