Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister’s father, Carlos Mac Allister, has denied rumours of talks with Real Madrid amid speculation surrounding the midfielder’s future.
There is no clarity over several of Liverpool’s stars heading into a crucial part of the summer window, and Alexis Mac Allister is one example. Earlier in the window, there were rumours linking Cody Gakpo with a move away, but manager Andoni Iraola is prepared to give the Dutchman a chance to prove himself, although the Argentine’s future remains in considerable doubt.
Earlier in the year, there were heavy rumours linking Mac Allister to Real Madrid, as reports stated that the Spanish giants would pursue a new midfielder as a priority. The Liverpool star’s name has come up on more than one occasion, and there is still a possibility that the deal could materialise.
Recent rumours pointed towards possible talks between Real Madrid and Mac Allister’s camp, but those claims have been quashed by his father, Carlos Mac Allister. Paul Gorst’s post on X included comments from the Liverpool star’s father denying talks with Real Madrid.
Carlos Mac Allister said, “We have not spoken to any Real Madrid official. What is being circulated about us holding talks with Real Madrid is not true.”
Those comments should calm some Liverpool supporters who may have been concerned about the state of their team if Mac Allister departs. This would come as a relief, particularly after the recent announcement of Dominik Szoboszlai’s new deal at the club.

However, those comments do not indicate that Mac Allister will stay at Liverpool, which may not ease the overall speculation surrounding his future. Real Madrid could still enter the race in a major way, as they are still looking for options to strengthen their midfield, with the likes of Martín Zubimendi being linked again following Arsenal’s pursuit of Bruno Guimaraes.
There are other names on their list, including Manchester City’s Rodri, but some observers have suggested that Florentino Pérez is still doubtful about the Spanish World Cup winner. The club had also denied speculation surrounding their chase of Enzo Fernández with an official statement confirming that they have no interest in the Chelsea star.
Heading into the next part of the window, they will continue to assess the market and may even consider Mac Allister as an option. Should the Argentine leave Anfield, Liverpool would then move for a replacement.
