Accoring to the Daily Mail, Adam Lallana has been ruled out for a minimum of one month after picking up an injury on international duty for England, according to reports. They claim that Lallana played the full 90 minutes against Lithuania despite picking up an injury in the second half.

Since then, the midfielder’s injury has gotten progressively worse and despite undergoing treatment at Melwood, Lallana is expected to miss out against Everton and Stoke at the very least. This will come as a huge blow for Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool have been struggling since the start of the new year and Adam Lallana has been one of their best players despite this.

The midfielder has consistently put in fine performances for Liverpool and is the most hard-working player in their side, so his absence will be a big issue for them as they look to continue their fight to finish in a top four position.

It is also the second time this year that Lallana has picked up an injury on international duty, having picked up a groing injury back in November in a 2-2 draw with Spain. and Liverpool fans vented their frustration on Twitter.

Gareth Southgate was also roundly criticised for his decision to play Lallana for 90 minutes despite the match being a relative dead rubber.

Liverpool were already debating who could replace Lallana in the side and the 17-year old Ben Woodburn was a popular name on everyone’s list.
