Chelsea parted ways with Graham Potter after a series of disappointing performances and are now looking to bring in Luis Enrique.

A report from Daily Telegraph claims that Chelsea have put together a five-man shortlist, and they will look to interview all five managers before deciding on an appointment. The report adds that Chelsea have already approached the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique.

While Nagelsmann was recently sacked by Bayern Munich, Luis Enrique has been without a job since leaving the Spanish national team after the World Cup. The report claims that Nagelsmann might wait until the summer transfer window before taking the Chelsea job. But Enrique could be available immediately.

The former Barcelona manager has certainly proven himself at the highest level and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Chelsea. Recent reports have also claimed that the former treble winner is in pole position to join the Blues.

The Blues have a hugely-talented squad at their disposal, and they need a top-class coach who can bring the best out of their players. Enrique won the treble during his time at Barcelona, and he is certainly capable of delivering major trophies.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can convince him to take over as the long-term replacement for Graham Potter. Meanwhile, the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Ruben Amorim and Carlo Ancelotti have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge as well.

Chelsea have spent huge sums of money over the last two transfer windows, and they will be hoping to win the major trophies now. Enrique could certainly help the Blues compete at a high level. But Chelsea will have to be patient with him if they decide to bring him in.

Enrique will need time to implement his ideas. But Chelsea have made several new signings, and the squad will need time to build chemistry as well. Graham Potter will probably feel that he deserved more time to turn things around at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have had a disappointing campaign so far and are currently in the bottom half of the table. A club of their stature will be expected to win major trophies and play in the Champions League regularly. However, it seems highly unlikely that they will finish in the top four and secure Champions League qualification for the next season.
