Chelsea have added 48-year-old Oliver Glasner to their list of managerial targets to replace Graham Potter after the Englishman’s sacking.

According to The Guardian, Oliver Glasner is the latest name to feature on Chelsea’s managerial shortlist. The Eintracht Frankfurt boss could depart the Bundesliga side. The Blues have taken note of his quality and could hold meetings in the coming weeks.

Graham Potter got relieved of his duties as Chelsea manager with 10 games to go in the Premier League season. The Former Brighton boss has had a disastrous time since taking over from Thomas Tuchel. He did lead the team to a Champions League quarterfinal berth.

The ownership lost their faith in Potter and decided it was time for a change following Chelsea’s latest defeat at home to Aston Villa. The Englishman has seen his name linked with the vacant Tottenham and Leicester jobs, but he could wait until the summer before taking up a new role.

Meanwhile, Chelsea were lining up many names even before Potter got the sack. In the two days since his departure, a host of names have seen their names mentioned to replace the Englishman. Julian Nagelsmann seems like the top choice for the Blues hierarchy. There are other managers like Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique, Ruben Amorim and now Oliver Glasner on their radar.

Nagelsmann could merit himself following outstanding work at the Bundesliga clubs managed before. He also boasts good relationships with current Chelsea executives. The has worked with Sporting Director Laurence Stewart and Technical Director Christopher Vivell while at RB Leipzig.

Hence, it’s natural to consider the German a top target, but Glasner also has his merits ahead of a decision. The Eintracht Frankfurt boss recently led the club to the Europa League crown and has plenty of admirers from England.

Tottenham also considers the 48-year-old Bundesliga manager a candidate. Chelsea’s interest could let the Austrian have choices. He does not have good relations at Frankfurt following a few performances this season.

Chelsea will look at saving costs with their new managerial appointment but may have to pay up in cases of few options. Like the 48-year-old Glasner, Nagelsmann will cost a significant sum when clubs try to sign him. While he can no longer manage Bayern, he remains on their payroll.
