Tottenham are in a good position to sign Dejan Kulusevski before the transfer deadline, with Arsenal also keen on the 21-year-old Serie A attacker.

According to Marco Conterio, Tottenham are pushing ahead with their plans over a move for Dejan Kulusevski. Spurs are keen on the 21-year-old Serie A attacker and want to close a deal before this month’s transfer deadline, although they have Arsenal for competition in the race for the Sweden international.

Tottenham remain hopeful of strengthening their squad before this month’s transfer deadline. Antonio Conte and technical director Fabio Paratici have spent the best part of January chasing a wide attacker, and things seem to be moving in the right direction after all, as they remain close to signing Dejan Kulusevski.

The 21-year-old is deemed surplus to requirements this season at Juventus, who indicated that they were prepared to let him go well before the January window opened. They were receptive to the interest coming in from the Premier League, particularly from north London, with Arsenal and Spurs both keen on the Serie A attacker.

Spurs are somewhat desperate to get one signing over the line after missing out on Adama Traore to Barcelona and Luis Diaz to Liverpool in the past week. Conte seems keen on a wide attacker to improve his options and challenge to finish in the top four.

After the disappointments in the past week, Tottenham have now rekindled their interest in Kulusevski. Technical director Paratici was responsible for signing the 21-year-old for Juventus and was willing to use his influence to make this deal happen.

They have Arsenal for competition, as Mikel Arteta’s side are also weighing up a move for Kulusevski in this window. The focus will be on the quality of the offers both clubs make for the 21-year-old Serie A attacker, while the player’s preference would equally be key to his move away from Juventus.

The Bianconeri recently signed Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina and have made quite a massive outlay for the striker. They require funds to balance their books and hence remain open to letting some of their current players leave, including Rodrigo Bentancur, who remains a target for Tottenham.

As things stand, Tottenham reportedly have the upper hand in the chase for Kulusevski and could end up pipping Arsenal for his signature. The deal for the Swede could be based on an initial loan deal with an option or obligation to buy at the end of the season, which Juventus remain open to accepting.
