Marco Reus Is On His Way To Becoming A Monster, Says His Borussia Dortmund Manager

Marco Reus has missed out on a lot of action in the recent past because of injury problems, but is now firing on all cylinders. This has made his manager laud his performances and dub him a ‘monster’ in the making.

The 26-year-old scored his 15th goal this season for Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, as Die Schwarzgelben eased past Stuttgart 3-1 in the DFB-Pokal quarter finals. After the match, their manager Thomas Tuchel was gushing with praise for the German international and said that the club wanted to make him into a ‘monster’.

“I said we want to convert him into a monster because he can be a monster on the field,” Tuchel was quoted as saying by fourfourtwo.com.

“But it is important that we don’t expect too much too early. We absolutely want to get him through the season without further injuries… He is on a good path also mentally. The way he trains, how alert he is and how he presents himself within the team and how he gives everything.”

“Like I said, he can be a monster, become a monster. He is doing everything for this. So I am very happy and absolutely convinced that he will reach this point.”

Marco ‘The Monster’ Reus

Tuchel added that work was being put in to ensure the winger isn’t hampered by injury worries for the rest of the season. He also praised Reus’ focus, clarity and confidence, saying that the winger was clever in his use of space and a big danger to opposition defences.

Marco Reus has long been one of the most highly rated attacking players in the game, and at the age of 26, is on the verge of hitting his peak years as a player. As Borussia Dortmund’s primary hitman alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the winger will have a key role to play in his club’s fortunes. Fans of Die Schwarzgelben will hope that Tuchel fulfills his promise, turning Reus into the monster of Bundesliga.
