Major ‘Revamp’ Imminent At Chelsea FC, Says Blues Legend Frank Lampard

The situation at Chelsea FC is deplorable indeed, and Blues legend Frank Lampard believes that a major shake-up is on its way in the summer transfer window as the club tries to shake off a nightmare of a season.

“From seeing some of the games I saw when I was back in England over the Christmas period, I think they need a new injection around the team,” Lampard said in an interview with ESPN FC.

However, his assessment of the impending changes did not come without the usual fair bit of surprise, as Lampard himself had expected Chelsea FC to do well after a tremendous showing last season.

“It’s strange because a year ago, you’re thinking, ‘They’ve got a great squad and if they add to it they can really go.’ Now you’re thinking, ‘The need to revamp, to change some players.’ I think that will happen in the summer,” he said. “I think there will be three or four or five players and positions in the team that change around.”

Lamps expects the Blues to bounce back

No matter how bad the situation at the club may be, the Chelsea FC great expects the club to show its character and bounce back to get better results in their matches.

“They’re a huge club, and there’s obviously been issues there. You see that when they fire the manager who won the league six months before. I know a lot of people at the club. They will come back,” said Lampard.

Hazard, Costa, Fabregas on their way out?

There have been a lot of speculation about the three Chelsea FC stars, and the poor performances dished out by Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas this season has resulted in a lot of speculation about the trio’s future at the club. However, they are unlikely to make any move away from London in the January transfer window, though a summer transfer cannot be ruled out. It would be interesting to see whose head goes on the chopping block in the summer of 2016.
