Tottenham could table lowball bid to sign Conor Gallagher

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for 23-year-old Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in recent weeks.

A report from Give Me Sport has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could look to submit a low-ball offer for 23-year-old Chelsea mainstay Conor Gallagher towards the end of the January transfer window.

The Conor Gallagher Situation

Gallagher was expected to sign a new contract with Chelsea. But the agreement has not been finalised between the two parties yet. He has been linked with an exit from the West London club, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham Hotspur decide to test Chelsea’s resolve in the next few days.

It is no secret that Tottenham need to bring in central midfield reinforcements, and the 23-year-old midfielder could prove to be a solid addition. The English international is already well-settled in the Premier League and he could transform Tottenham in the middle of the park and make an immediate impact.

Chelsea are looking to bring in their own signings. But they need to raise funds in order to comply with the Financial Fair Play regulations. Selling Conor Gallagher could help them bring in new players this month. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Tottenham Keen on Conor Gallagher

Spurs have already done well to improve their attack and defence this month. Signing a quality central midfielder like Gallagher would wrap up a hugely successful window for them. Tottenham are currently pushing for UEFA Champions League qualification, and the right additions in January will help them finish the 2023/24 season strongly.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea are prepared to accept a reasonable offer for the 23-year-old midfielder this month. Daniel Levy could send in a low-ball offer in the next few days. But the Blues are unlikely to sanction Gallagher’s departure unless their demands are met.

The West London club are under financial pressure right now, and selling the English midfielder for a knockdown price would not serve their purpose. Meanwhile, Gallagher is reportedly ready to make his own decision irrespective of what Chelsea decide.
