Spain Team News: De Gea, Pedro, Pique Set To Start Against Luxembourg

Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque is expected to start with Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea in goal and Chelsea forward Pedro Rodriguez in attack with Diego Costa suspended and Andres Iniesta ruled out with injury.

Spain need to win both their games to finish top of their UEFA Euro qualifying game, with just two points separating them from Slovenia.

Andres Iniesta’s injury means Thiago Alacantra and Pedro Rodriguez are expected to start for Spain with Diego Costa suspended.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is also expected to start in place of Iker Casillas, having played in each of the last seven games for the Old Trafford outfit.

De Gea’s fine form is expected to help him get the nod over captain Iker Casillas.

Juanfran and Marc Bartra are expected to play in the right-back and centre-back role, respectively, with Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal out injured. Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba are expected to complete the back four with Sergio Busquets and Cesc Fabregas joining Thiago Alcantara in midfield.

The La Roja are expected to field Manchester City star David Silva, Chelsea FC new signing Pedro Rodriguez in wide forward roles with Valencia’s Alvaro Morata up-front, having played with the forward in the practice session.

Villarreal defender Mario Gaspar and Athletic Bilbao pair Xabier Etxeita and Mikel San Jose, alongside Nacho Fernandez have been included in the squad which is depleted due to injuries and suspensions.
