Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin Undergoes Manchester United Medical Ahead Of Move

Valued at £30 million by Southampton, Will He Make The Move To Manchester United?

English Premier League giants Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin, with a medical already completed last night at Carrington, according to Manchester Evening News.

Reports . coming from all parts of England, suggested that Schneiderlin reached for his medical minutes after Bastian Schweinsteiger had arrived for his at United’s training ground. The 25-year-old will join the Red Devils on their pre-season tour of the United States, along with the other 3 new signings.

After having an early bid in the region of A?20 million, rejected by Southampton, many believed the Old Trafford outfit would not come back with a bid closer to Southampton’s A?30 million asking price, especially after the announcement that Bastian Schweinsteiger was flying in to Manchester to complete his A?15 million move. The details of the deal for the French midfielder have not been made public yet, while it is believed that it is in upwards of A?25 million.

Schneiderlin wanted a move to a club regularly playing in the Champions League, with Arsenal FC also said to be interested in his services. However, if United do complete the capture of the 25-year-old, it would genuinely makes them title contenders.

A lack of truly world class midfielder’s in the Red Devils ranks has been well documented since the days of Paul Scholes’ retirement, however, it looks like Louis Vang Gaal has identified the Achilles Heel of his squad, and is recruiting top players in a bid to win United their 1st title, since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Louis Van Gaal has had a busy transfer window so far, having already signed PSV’s Memphis Depay and Torino’s Matteo Darmian. The transfer of Bastian Schweinsteiger is also believed to be announced tomorrow, along with Schneiderlin, making it four signings for the Manchester club, with more than a month and a half yet left to the close of the transfer window. Robin Van Persie in the meantime has landed in Turkey ahead of his proposed move to Fenerbahce.
