It seems like a sick deja-vu for Liverpool FC management and fans.
Last pre-season, it was made clear to Borini that despite his success on loan at Sunderland, he would not be playing a key role if he were to stay. Liverpool went extremely close to selling him to Sunderland and later QPR, with terms for a A?10m move agreed between the two clubs. But Borini was adamant about staying at the club and fighting for his future, an admirable move, but one which didna t help the player. He only made 12 league appearances for the side, with only 3 of them being starts. He got a solitary goal and an assist to his name last season and the 24 year old is now obviously looking for a move away from the club.
He looked close to a move to West Ham recently with there being suggestions that Liverpool had received an offer for the forward believed to be in the region of A?8m.
Recently, reports emerged claiming Lazio were keen to take the Italian striker. It was rumored that the Rome side had agreed a deal with Liverpool and would pay a a 1M loan fee for Borini this season and a further a 7M to make it permanent next summer.

However, it is now believed that Borini is blocking this deal.
However, at least this time its not because he wants to stay at Liverpool. It is believed that his main reason to do the same is his wish to stay in England. Not to mention, he could be playing for AS Roma’s city-rivals if he were to agree a move and perhaps that played a bit of a factor too.
Therefore it is not discouraging as yet as an English club – West Ham perhaps – will pay a little bit more for the services of the 24 year-old.
