Guardiola confirms plans for his future will be revealed next week; Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea FC on red alert

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that his future will be sorted over the coming week, insisting that he still does not have the answer to the question that has followed him around for quite a while now

The future of former FC Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola will remain a secret for not much longer, with the 44-year-old himself confirming that his plans for the next season and beyond will be revealed next week.

There has been intense speculation on the topic, with sections of the English and Spanish media linking him with a move to Premier League title favourites Manchester City, while Manchester United and Chelsea FC have also been reported to be interested in the Bayern manager.

.

The fact that the Spaniard has yet to sign a contract extension with Bayern Munich is though by some to be indicative of his desire to challenge himself in a different league, and England is widely tipped to be his next destination.

Whether or not that materialises will be known in the coming days, with Guardiola saying that more will be known about his future in the next week. He is quoted by Sky Sports as saying: “Tonight I have no answer. Next week you will know the answer. Next week there will be clarity.”

Manchester clubs might have an almighty tug-of-war over Guardiola

Although Louis van Gaal’s contract does not run out till 2017 and neither does Manuel Pellegrini’s. there is every chance that both clubs will be interested in Pep Guardiola is he becomes available during the summer.

The two-time Champions League winning manager has been coveted by City for a while now, particularly with Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano as chiefs at the Etihad, and that is likely to be his destination if he chooses the Premier League as his next challenge.

However, if Van Gaal is unable to turn things around this season, the Red Devils could very well look to part ways with him over the summer, and will not want to miss out on an opportunity to lure someone with the record of Guardiola.

The Spaniard himself is likely to be attracted by the power and reputation of Manchester United, and a tug-of-war could ensue between the two Manchester clubs in the summer over the 44-year-old.
