A?44.3m-Rated PSG Star’s Contract Negotiations Stall; Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United Interested In Attacker

PSG star Lucas Moura has hit an impasse with the club over contract extension negotiations and his suitors have thus received a ‘glimmer of hope’ in their pursuit of the 22 year old.

Moura currently earns A?57,0000-a-week with the Parisian giants, but is reportedly demanding wages nearer A?82,000-a-week to commit his future to the Parisian club, which the club is currently reluctant to do.

The Brazilian was signed for a whopping A?44.3m in January 2013, as he opted for PSG ahead of Manchester United even going for the less lucrative deal in the process.

Arsenal, Liverpool and former suitors Manchester United are reportedly interested in getting the player and his impasse with his club will definitely boost their chances of doing the same.

Arsenal are looking to strengthen their team for next season as they would want to target the league after building great momentum this season. More firepower in their attack that currently comprises Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey, Olivier Giroud among others, will certainly get them closer to trophies than ever before and it seems like Arsene Wenger thinks Moura could be that man.

For Liverpool, things are currently looking extremely dull. Their top-4 chances are all but over and contract rebel Raheem Sterling looks increasingly likely to leave this summer. If he does, Liverpool will certainly demand an eye-catching price as the 20-year old still has two years left on his contract. In case he does end up going, Liverpool could use the money to buy Moura from PSG and the bevy of players reported to be leaving this summer will ensure that wage problems don’t occur in this potential deal. Moreover, the fact that Moura is only 22 and will have a good resale value makes him fit the FSG model as well. However, a lot will depend on whether Liverpool can secure a Champions League berth next season as the Brazilian certainly wouldn’t want to leave otherwise.

Manchester United will also be looking to compete for the title next season as they are getting back to those levels under Louis van Gaal now. The addition of Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao this summer showed the ambition the Manchester club has to get back to the old ways and Lucas Moura will be a welcome addition next season. The 20 time league winners will easily be able to attract him with their name itself and will also probably have Champions League football to offer. Moreover, there won’t be any financial hindrances in signing the player.
