With less than 36 hours to go until the transfer deadline, Liverpoolai??i??s lack of completed deals have left fans frustrated. Amidst all the clamor, rumors surfaced on Twitter of Liverpoolai??i??s last minute move Yann Mai??i??Vila. Multiple sources started confirming that Liverpool was indeed going to make a move for the Frenchman, with rumors even suggesting that Liverpoolai??i??s Managing Director Ian Ayre was flying out to Spain in order to finalize a possible deal with Rubin Kazanai??i??s representatives.
However, over the few hours, those rumors have slowly died down, amidst suggestions that Liverpoolai??i??s initial bid had been turned down. Liverpool presently look unlikely to be able to wrap up this deal before the transfer deadline at 11pm GMT, but with the player himself showing interest in a move to Liverpool, a summer move seems like a distinct possibility.
There were also rumors of former Liverpool youngster Tom Ince joining Crystal Palace on loan. The youngster has impressed at Blackpool since leaving Liverpool, and had been linked with a return to his former club for the last couple of windows. However, this deal is yet to be confirmed by either club as of now.
There have also been rumors of a possible swap deal involving Dimitar Berbatov of Fulham and Lewis Holtby of Tottenham. Berbatov has been linked with a cut-price 1.5m deal to former club Tottenham provided Fulham are able to complete the transfer of Olympiakosai??i?? striker Kostas Mitroglu. While Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is keen on the deal, manager Tim Sherwood is thought to be less enthusiastic.
Berbatov would serve as replacement for Jermaine Defoe, who will be joining MLS club Toronto FC. The Bulgarian striker had an excellent spell at Tottenham before joining Manchester United, but has seen his stock fall considerably in the last 3 years. Arsenal and Chelsea, both looking for attacking reinforcements, are also thought to be interested in signing the Bulgarian.
Fulham have registered their interest in taking German attacker Lewis Holtby on loan for the rest of the season, and the Berbatov deal is likely to come up in negotiations. Holtby is also attracting interest from former club Schalke, who would look towards him if Julian Draxlerai??i??s move to Arsenal is confirmed.
