Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Angel Di Maria will leave the club. He also assured that Sami Khedira will stay at Santiago Bernabeu.
Reports coming from Spain and England have claimed that Angel Fabian Di Maria is on verge of becoming a Manchester United player and Real Madrid boss Ancelotti also confirmed the news today.
Ancelotti said: “He didn’t train today. It’s not official yet but the transfer is almost done. I would like to thank him for everything he has done for this club. Personally I have had a very good relationship with Di MarAi??a; he has done a fantastic job at this club. It was his decision. The club did everything possible to keep him. Good luck to him.” Ancelotti was speaking in a press conference ahead of his sidesai??i?? La Liga opener against Cordoba on Monday.
Manchester United have been touted as the future destination of Angel Di Maria and reports have also claimed that Red Devils have agreed a fee of 70 million euros for the Argentina international. However, Ancelotti refused to comment on the future destination of the player.
Manchester United are in desperate need of a quality midfielder and it now appears that they have got their man as currently, there is no other club in the running for the signature of Real Madrid player. French champions Paris Saint Germain showed some interest in Di Maria in the early part of the transfer window but they baulked at the asking price of Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, German midfielder Sami Khedira has also been linked with a move away from Real Madrid recently. But Ancelotti confirmed that the player will remain at Real Madrid. He said: “He is staying and he’s happy. He is very important to the team.”
Real Madrid have signed the likes of Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez and Kaylor Navas this summer and it was reported that both Khedira and Di Maria will bid adios to the club in this summer. However, Ancelotti has stressed that Khedira is a key component of his squad and he will not leave the club.
Arsenal, Fiorentina, Manchester United and most recently, Napoli were the interested clubs for the services of Khedira but it now appears that the player is not going anywhere. Interestingly, Khedira has only one year left to his contract with Real Madrid and no agreement has been reached over the extension of the same.
