Manchester United continued their recent resurgence with another important away win as Rooneyai??i??s brace sinks West Ham.
This win means Manchester United have now closed down their gap with Tottenham Hotspur to just two points. It was their fourth win in their last six matches in all competitions and David Moyes will hope that they can maintain this momentum when they face Manchester City on Tuesday. West Ham on the other hand have now suffered three defeats in a row and they need to turn this around quickly or they can find themselves in trouble once again.
The away side made a fantastic start to the game as Wayne Rooney provided them with an early lead with a goal which will be a prime contender for the ai???goal of the seasonai??? award. The former Everton star caught goalkeeper Adrian off the line and volleyed the ball from the halfway mark into the back of the net. It was a moment of brilliance and to make it even more special ai??i?? a certain David Beckham watched it from the stands.
United doubled their lead in the 33rd minute of the match as Wayne Rooney scored with a simple tap in front of the goal. Ashley Youngai??i??s low cross was poorly dealt with by Mark Noble, whose poor clearance fell perfectly for Rooney in front of an empty net. That sealed the match for the away side, who held on to the lead and managed their fourth clean sheet in their last five league matches.
David Moyes was delighted with Rooneyai??i??s opening goal and praised his awareness and skill to pull out something like that.

Moyes wants his team to maintain this momentum and also praised Juan Mata and Shinji Kagawa for their contribution in this performance.
“I thought we played very well. Shinji Kagawa had a great chance, Juan Mata had a great chance and Marouane Fellaini had one as well.
“Early in the season people said I was changing the team too much but I thought people came in and played really, really well today and I think the midweek performance helped and the way we passed it backed that up.
“I think a lot of them showed what they are capable of tonight. Mata was great today as was Kagawa and we had some really top performances, we want to keep it going.
“All we want is some momentum because we’ve not had much and all we can do is try and take some confidence from this.” ai??i?? Moyes added.
