Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes that the current squad is unbalanced and that there are too manyAi??play-makersAi??in the side.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has talked about inheriting an unbalanced squad from David Moyes and now former midfielder Paul Scholes has also pointed out the fact that there are too many number tens in the squad at the moment.
Last season David Moyes struggled a lot with his team selection as failed to find a system where he can get the best out of all the attacking talents in the squad. Some of the players had to play out of position as Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Shinji Kagawa were all suited to a central role in attack.
New manager Louis van Gaal felt that the squad is unbalanced following his assessment and now Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has echoed similar sentiments. Anders Herrera, who arrived from Spain this summer, has also shown in the pre-season that he is comfortable playing in an advanced role in the midfield, and it will be interesting to see how van Gaal manages to get the best out of him, alongside the likes of Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata.
Scholes also felt that United need to strengthen their defence following the departure of Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra.

ai???If you look at the first three lads I mentioned they don’t have great injury records as well. They don’t seem to play as many games as the likes of Rio (Ferdinand), Vidic (Nemanja) and Evra (Patrice) who have been the cornerstone of the defence for the last ten years.
ai???If you take them out, especially Evra with the left-back situation with a young lad like Luke Shaw coming in on a big money move, there will be a lot of pressure on him.
