Swansea City got the first win at Old Trafford in their history as they knocked out Manchester United from the FA Cup.

This defeat will only heap more pressure on David Moyes as his side have now lost four of their last six home games in all competitions. Old Trafford was a fortress under Sir Alex Ferguson, but this season it seemed to have lost its daunting aura with every away side fancying their chances of getting a result against Manchester United in this stadium.
Wayne Routledge provided an early lead for the away side with a lovely chipped finish over De Gea after he was set up by a lovely through ball from Alex Pozuelo. But Unitedai??i??s reply was swift and Alexander Buttnerai??i??s wonderful cross from the left was turned home by Hernandez. The home side took control of the game from that point and most of the attacking impetus in the game was provided by them. Swansea failed to create in anything in the second half as well, but the most important point was that despite Unitedai??i??s dominance they failed to create too many clear cut chances. Tremmel wasn’t forced to make too many saves as United failed to produce quality in the final third.
The game turned around in the 76th minute when Rio Ferdinand picked up a knock and had to be replaced by Fabio. Just four minutes after coming on the pitch, the full back produced a dangerous tackle on Jose Canas and was shown a straight red. Swansea managed to make their numerical advantage count at the end as Wilfried Bony headed in the winner in the 90th minute of the match after being Routledge produced an enticing cross into the near post.
David Moyes said that Unitedai??i??s long injury list is not an excuse for this result and that they must now concentrate on the important League Cup semi-final fixture against Sunderland.
“No (not an excuse to have seven players out).
“We have another big game in 48 hours’ time (against Sunderland in the League Cup semi-finals) so we had to keep that in mind but there are no excuses.
“We had a very strong team out. Just about every player on the pitch was an international.” ai??i?? The Manchester United manager said.
Moyes also felt that the dismissal of Fabio changed the game, till which United were in control of the game.
“It was a sending off.
“It changed the game because we had the most control of it. Without getting the second goal I felt relatively comfortable.
“We don’t come away thinking we deserved to lose – but we did.
“You can definitely see we are lacking that little bit of confidence when we get into the final third at times.
“We need to get back to winning ways and be hard to play against. Most importantly, we need to take something out of the good play we have had in games.
“It has been a tough start. I am disappointed we have not won more games but it will change I have no doubt about that.
“It shouldn’t be that (United are reliant on likes of Rooney and Van Persie).
“My job is to find a way of winning. It doesn’t matter what style you have to find a way of winning.” ai??i?? Moyes added.
The former Everton manager also said that it is unlikely that United will be able to bring in the players they want to in the January transfer window.
“I have said I will try to get players but it will probably be doubtful in January. I have said that quite consistently.
“There is an urgency that we would like to bring players in but are those players available in January?
“There is no point in me hyping it up and saying we are because players we would like to bring in are probably not available.” ai??i?? Moyes said.
