According to reports in Italy, Arsenal FC have turned their attention towards Cataniaai??i??s young right back Gino Peruzzi are scheduled to hold talks with them today.
Arsenal were in need to a right back following the departure of Bacary Sagna, but despite signing Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United, Arsene Wenger is keen to sign another right back as Carl Jenkinson looks to be heading for the exit. Reports in Italy suggest that the Gunners are now keen to sign Catania defender Gino Peruzzi as an understudy for Debuchy this season.
Gino Peruzzi made a name for himself in 2012 when he publicly challenged Neymar before Velez Sarsfieldai??i??s Cope Libertadores quarter-final clash against Santos. The Argentina right back backed up his words with a brilliant performance in both the legs as kept Neymar in check.
Following his exploits, Italian side Catania signed him last year and he immediately established himself in the first team. The 22-year-old produced some consistent performances at the back, despite Catania relegation, and grabbed a lot of attention from a host of clubs across Europe.
AC Milan and Udinese are believed to be interested in signing the young defender, who has already made four appearances for the national team, and reports in Italy suggest that Arsenal have joined the race as well.
The Gunners are in the market for another right back despite the arrival of Mathieu Debuchy this summer.
