Arsenal FC striker Nicklas Bendtner has claimed that the London club has accepted offers from five different clubs for him.
He spent the 2011-12 season on loan to Sunderland and last season after initially refusing a move to German club Hamburg, he was surprisingly signed on loan by Serie A Champions Juventus. But he failed to make any impact at Turin as well, where his on field performances (read non-performances) was largely over shadowed by his off the field antics and injuries. Back in March, he was arrested for driving in a drunken state and was suspended from the Danish national team for six months.
Bendtner havenai??i??t been able to clinch a move to any club till now despite it being made clear that he is not a part of the future/present plan of Arsene Wenger. The reasons being Arsenalai??i??s high demands, initially, Bendtnerai??i??s high wages and also the fact that the Danish international was waiting for a ai???bigai??i?? club to come in with an offer. But now things have changed, both Arsenalai??i??s and Bendtnerai??i??s expectations have mellowed down.
The 25-year-old has revealed that the London club has received offers from five different clubs and he will make his decision in two weeks. Bendtner stated that he is prepared to join a club ai???below the topai??i?? in order to gain regular first team action.
“Arsenal have agreed with five clubs so now it is up to me to make a choice.
“I will make that choice within the next 14 days. They are all good clubs. It is a hugely important choice I’m faced with. I must go where I am wanted. As a footballer, there is only one thing that can make you happy: playing time.
“Will it be good for me to go to a big club where I risk the bench? No, I’d rather go somewhere where the club is located just below the top where I can play every week.
“I can take a step back to take three forward.” ai??i?? The Arsenal striker was quoted in press.
Borussia Monchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt and Besiktas are believed to be among the five clubs mentioned above, while there is also a possibility of his moving to Anzhi or Zenit in Russia. It will be interesting to see if Bendtner can finally sort out his head and finally fulfil some of the promise he showed as a youngster.
