Arsenal could launch January move for Eli Junior Kroupi

Arsenal could revisit a move for Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi in the January transfer window as Mikel Arteta continues to search for a long-term upgrade on the left side of his attack.

The Gunners have spent much of the summer assessing high-profile attacking options, with Vinicius Junior previously viewed as the dream target before committing his future to Real Madrid. That forced Arsenal to reconsider their plans, and there is now a possibility they could wait until January or next summer rather than force through a deal in the final weeks of the current window.

Kroupi remains firmly in that conversation.

According to The Independent, Kroupi injury halted the summer possibility and Arsenal would likely have explored a move for the 20-year-old this summer had he not suffered an injury that complicated any immediate transfer. The Bournemouth attacker is highly rated by the club and remains a realistic option once he has recovered and returned to regular action.

That makes January a potentially important window and Arsenal will be able to assess how Kroupi responds physically and whether Bournemouth’s stance changes once the season is underway. The Gunners are also looking at Juventus star Kenan Yildiz, who is valued at more than £60 million, while Julian Alvarez remains another high-profile name on their broader attacking shortlist.

Arsenal considering whether to wait

Mikel Arteta is believed to be especially keen to strengthen the left flank, but Arsenal do not want to overpay simply because preferred targets are unavailable. That could lead them to delay their major attacking investment.

Yildiz is difficult to prise away from Juventus, while Alvarez’s preference to remain in Spain complicates that route. Kroupi, meanwhile, offers a different profile: younger, Premier League-proven and still capable of developing significantly. Arsenal’s recent moves for Ezri Konsa and Bruno Guimaraes have added established quality, but there remains interest in signing younger players who can grow into long-term roles.

Waiting until January for Kroupi could be a smarter move than forcing through a compromise signing now. His injury made a summer transfer unrealistic, but it did not remove Arsenal’s interest. If he returns strongly and proves his fitness, the 20-year-old could quickly re-emerge as one of Arteta’s preferred options. Much will depend on Bournemouth’s valuation, but Kroupi remains a name worth watching once the winter window opens.
