A host of top Premier League teams are vying for PSG’s 19-year-old midfield prodigy Senny Mayulu ahead of the summer.
According to Caught Offside, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City are all interested in exploring a move for PSG’s 19-year-old midfielder Senny Mayulu. The France U21 international has enjoyed a competitive season so far, and his contractual situation could open the door to an exit from Paris.
Mayulu is yet to establish himself as a key figure in Luis Enrique’s plans at PSG, but he is steadily getting there. The intense nature of the midfield set-up would make it difficult for any up-and-coming player to make a mark, but that has not been the case for Mayulu.
In a competitive midfield that includes João Neves, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Fabián Ruiz and others, Mayulu has played more than 1,700 minutes across all competitions. The majority of that has come in Ligue 1, which suggests he has been able to break into Enrique’s thinking with some regularity.
However, his contractual situation has PSG worried about the midfielder’s future. Talks over a new deal have reportedly stalled over the 19-year-old’s wage demands, which have led to speculation surrounding his next move, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City all interested.
A move to England could reportedly triple his current wages, and the competitive edge of the Premier League might prove enticing. Joining Chelsea, Arsenal, or Manchester City would still mean competing for a place in the starting line-up, but the midfielder has shown enough fight to believe he can do that.
Senny Mayulu to the Premier League?
PSG will reportedly demand at least a €60 million-plus in transfer fees, which is something Premier League sides such as Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester City may be ready to invest. His profile as a versatile midfielder, comfortable with different tactical ideas relayed by Enrique, makes him an exciting prospect.
The bonus of goals and assists, alongside mature duel-winning, makes him one of the more sought-after prospects in the market. It remains to be seen whether PSG are ready to dispense with him or whether they will make an attractive offer to keep the €60 million-plus-rated homegrown prodigy in Paris for the foreseeable future.
