Tottenham open talks to sign Savinho from Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Brazilian international Savinho from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Savinho is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 21-year-old Manchester City attacking sensation has emerged as a target for the North London club.

The 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners have opened talks over a possible move in the summer transfer window. However, convincing Manchester City to part ways with the South American winger will be a tall order, while the Premier League giants will demand at least £50 million to part ways with him.

Savinho and his fruitful Manchester City journey so far

Savinho has made considerable progress since joining Manchester City from Troyes in a deal worth £31 million last summer. The 21-year-old hit the ground running at the Etihad and impressed with his creative output in his debut season with Manchester City. The highly-rated winger has amassed three goals and 13 assists in 48 appearances thus far for Manchester City.

Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has helped him break into his national side, and he has turned out 13 times thus far for Brazil. The Brazilian winger’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Tottenham Hotspur will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

London calling?

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Savinho is understandable. The Lilywhites are scouring the market for a wide attacker this summer amid uncertainties surrounding Richarlison’s long-term future. The former Everton talisman has struggled to make his mark since moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and his compatriot is a viable target to replace him.

Additionally, Tottenham will seek a long-term replacement for Son Heung-min from the market after the veteran South Korean attacker joined LAFC earlier this summer. So, the Manchester City whizkid has emerged as a viable target, with the North London outfit beginning the negotiations to sign him in the summer transfer window.

However, Manchester City will be reluctant to part ways with the 21-year-old Brazilian winger in the summer transfer window, although they have set a price tag of over £50 million to consider a sale. It will be interesting to see how talks between the two parties progress in the coming days.
