Chelsea will reportedly look to sign 22-year-old Dutch striker Emanuel Emegha from Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by French outlet Foot Mercato, Emanuel Emegha is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The Blues are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the RC Strasbourg attacker. They have already initiated the discussions with the Dutchman’s entourage.
The rising stock of Emanuel Emegha
Emanuel Emegha has come leaps and bounds since joining RC Strasbourg from Sturm Graz in July 2023. The Dutch attacking prospect has improved his productivity in the last two years, becoming a pivotal figure for the Ligue 1 outfit. In addition, he has caught the eye with his blistering pace, having become the fastest player in the French top flight this season after clocking a top speed of 37.72 km/h.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old has enjoyed a solid 2024/25 campaign thus far, contributing to 17 goals in 27 Ligue 1 appearances. Emegha has found the back of the net 14 times and provided three assists.
Meanwhile, the young Dutchman’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Premier League clubs, in particular, are keen on signing the RC Strasbourg striker, with Chelsea among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.
London calling?
Chelsea’s interest in Emanuel Emegha is understandable. The Blues are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window. While Enzo Maresca has multiple strikers in his squad, he wants more firepower in the 2025/26 season, with Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu’s bouts with injuries exposing the need for Chelsea to sign a centre-forward.
So, several strikers, including Patrik Schick, have emerged on Chelsea’s radar, with Emegha also a viable target. The Blues have initiated their move to sign the 22-year-old Dutchman, approaching his entourage to discuss a summer deal.
Chelsea should have no issues securing an agreement with RC Strasbourg, considering the two outfits are sister clubs. So, the West London giants only need to turn Emegha’s head as they look to beat the competition to the young Dutch striker’s signature in the summer transfer window.
