Chelsea line up €50 million move for Assane Diao

Chelsea are gearing up to make a €50 million offer to sign teenage attacking sensation Assane Diao from Como.

According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea are keen on acquiring the services of Assane Diao, who seems to have taken his game to the next level since moving to Italy. The Blues consider him a great option to bolster their attack and are willing to make a massive financial investment to sign him.

Diao was a part of the Real Betis youth setup. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to their first team towards the end of 2023. He did feature in 47 matches for their first team and even contributed towards nine goals.

But they were not certain about him having an important role in their team, as a result, they ended up selling him to Como at the start of the year. Since moving to Como in January, the 19-year-old forward has been on fire.

He has been involved in a total of 15 league games for Cesc Fabregas’s team and has managed to contribute towards nine goals. While he prefers playing on the right flank, the teenager can pretty much play anywhere in attack.

Diao has significantly bolstered Como’s attack and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. His ability to break through with his blistering pace and his finishing have put him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in the world.

Chelsea to break the bank for Diao

With multiple top clubs keeping a close eye on him, Chelsea are moving fast as they want to beat other clubs to his signature. The Blues are constantly on the lookout for young players with massive potential and they consider the 19-year-old to be an ideal fit for their new project.

Not only can he do wonders for them in the long run, but the teenager could be a great squad player for Enzo Maresca’s team next season. As a result, they are ready to splash the cash to sign him. The Blues are preparing a massive €50 million offer to sign the forward just months after his move to Como.

This could lead to a significant profit for the Italian club, making them likely to consider letting him join the Blues in the summer.
