Everton and West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing 27-year-old English international Tammy Abraham from Serie A club AS Roma in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Tammy Abraham may return to the Premier League in the summer transfer window. Everton and West Ham United are keen on signing the English striker from Serie A club AS Roma. The two top-flight clubs have “asked for preliminary information” on the player’s situation, and he is open to returning to England in the summer transfer window.
Tammy Abraham and his Serie A journey
Tammy Abraham has endured a topsy-turvy ride since leaving Chelsea. The Englishman joined AS Roma in a deal worth £34 million in August 2021. While he enjoyed an excellent debut season with the Giallorossi, fitness issues and poor form have plagued him in the last two and a half years.
AC Milan signed the 27-year-old striker on loan from AS Roma last summer, and he has blown hot and cold this term. Abraham has contributed to only 12 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net eight times and providing four assists.
Meanwhile, Abraham’s stock in the market remains high, with several Premier League clubs keen on signing him in the summer transfer window. The English international is ready to return to the English top flight, with Everton and West Ham United vying for his signature. The two outfits have already submitted a preliminary enquiry to secure his services.
Premier League return on the cards?
Everton’s interest in Tammy Abraham is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future. So, recent reports have linked Everton with several strikers, including Hamza Igamane, with Abraham also a viable target for the Merseyside outfit.
As for West Ham United, the Hammers have signed two strikers in the last two transfer windows. However, while Niclas Fullkrug has struggled to make his mark since arriving from Borussia Dortmund, Evan Ferguson will likely return to Brighton & Hove Albion after the 2024/25 season ends. So, Abraham is an option worth pursuing, considering the Englishman’s experience in the Premier League.
It is unclear how much AS Roma will demand to part ways with the 27-year-old English striker in the summer transfer window. However, with the former Chelsea forward open to returning to the Premier League, Everton and West Ham should fancy their prospects.
