Tottenham have little chance to sign Benjamin Sesko

Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of signing Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United striker target Benjamin Sesko are slim.

Benjamin Sesko’s sensational rise at RB Leipzig has not gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs from England are gearing up to make a move for him ahead of next season. Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with the Slovenian striker.

However, according to reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Ange Postecoglou’s team have little chance of winning the race for the services of the 21-year-old striker. The North London club seek more firepower in the final third as they aim to bounce back after a disappointing campaign. While they would love to have Sesko in their squad, they might have to look elsewhere.

Sesko made a name for himself at Red Bull Salzburg before joining sister club RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023. The youngster has gone from strength to strength since moving to Germany, and he has established himself as one of the best young forwards in the world.

The 21-year-old has 17 goals and five assists in his 34 outings in the ongoing campaign. While his contract at the Bundesliga club runs until 2029, after he penned an extension last summer, he could be on the move next summer as top clubs are plotting a raid on Leipzig.

The Bundesliga outfit are well aware of the amount of interest in their striker’s services. He already has a formally fixed release clause for the summer, which could go up to €80 million by the end of an ongoing campaign. Tottenham are one of the clubs that could knock on Leipzig’s door for Benjamin Sesko.

Premier League giants could battle for Sesko

Dominic Solanke has not had the kind of impact everyone expected him to have, and with Richarlison’s future uncertain, Postecoglou wants a world-class forward to lead his line, and he would love to work with Benjamin Sesko. But Plettenberg believes Spurs only have a slim chance of winning the race for his signature.

That might have a lot to do with the fact that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are also pushing for him. Ruben Amorim wants a proven goal scorer even though Manchester United added Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee to their squad in the recent past.

Sesko could be an ideal fit for his system. Meanwhile, Arsenal seem to have a long-standing interest in him, and they have already expressed concrete interest in him. They have been looking for a world-class striker for some time, and he certainly fits the bill. As for Chelsea, they are always on the lookout for the best young players, and the Slovenian striker is a perfect fit for their project.
