Pep Guardiola pushing Manchester City to sign Michael Olise

Pep Guardiola reportedly wants Manchester City to bring Michael Olise back to the Premier League ahead of next season.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Pep Guardiola has asked for the signing of Michael Olise. The Manchester City manager wants to reinforce his attack and considers the Bayern Munich star as an ideal fit for his project.

Olise made a name for himself while playing for Crystal Palace before securing a big move to Bayern last summer. He has taken his game to another level since moving to Germany. The 23-year-old attacker has featured in a total of 36 matches and has contributed towards 25 goals (13 goals, 12 assists).

While he prefers playing on the right flank, Michael Olise is quite comfortable playing on either flank as well as a number ten. He has made quite a name for himself with consistent performances for the Bundesliga giants. His ability to take on defenders, his vision and his goalscoring prowess make him a massive threat in the final third.

Manchester City want to Olise

Multiple top clubs have been keeping a close eye on his situation, and Manchester City are believed to be one of them. While the Citizens failed with a last-ditch effort to sign him before he moved to Bayern Munich, they are looking to try their luck.

They are well aware of the Frenchman’s massive potential as he was a part of their youth setup for a year back in the day, and they have seen him up close in the Premier League during his time at Palace.

After struggling in the ongoing campaign, Manchester City are all set to undergo a major overhaul ahead of next season. Pep Guardiola seeks more quality in almost every area of the pitch, and as far as the attack is concerned, the Spanish coach feels Michael Olise would perfectly fit into his system.

He can certainly help the player take the next step in his career. More importantly, Olise’s versatility and his abilities make him an ideal signing for them as they are constantly on the lookout for technical and dynamic profiles who can easily adapt to their managers’ demands.

While Manchester City are keen on his signature, they won’t find it easy to sign him from Bayern Munich, where his contract runs until the summer of 2029. The Bundesliga giants have no intentions of parting ways with one of their most talented players and the Premier League will have to put forward a significant financial offer to convince them to sit down and negotiate.
