Liverpool are all set to rival Arsenal and Newcastle United in the race for the signature of PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United are all keen on acquiring the services of Johan Bakayoko. The Reds and the Gunners are believed to be among the strongest suitors to sign the PSV Eindhoven sensation while the Magpies have been monitoring him for some time and could decide to push for him next summer.
Bakayoko joined the PSV youth setup in the summer of 2019. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2022. The 21-year-old Belgian right-winger has only gone from strength to strength over the past few seasons.
He has established himself as a key figure in both club and country. In the ongoing campaign, he has a total of 13 goal contributions in his 31 outings. He has certainly caught the attention of quite a few top clubs and with less than 18 months left on his deal, his departure looks imminent.
Bakayoko has been subject to a lot of interest in recent windows. Saudi Pro League clubs were ready to break the bank for him but he turned it down as he is keen on moving to the Premier League. His dream might actually come true next summer as multiple top English clubs are after his signature.
Bakayoko could complete dream Premier League move
Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle have all been linked with the 21-year-old. The Reds are seriously considering making a move for him while the Gunners are also very much in the picture for the right-winger who could cost around €50-60 million.
The Merseyside club are looking to prepare for life without Mohamed Salah whose contract runs out at the end of the season. The Egyptian international could choose to leave the club as a free agent and they will certainly need to bring in someone who can help replace him.
While Bakayoko can’t fill his void, he can certainly help their cause. Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking for a star forward who can share the load with Bukayo Saka in the final third and they see the Belgian as a stand-out option in the final third.
Meanwhile, the Magpies have also been monitoring him and they could look to make him a part of their exciting project. A move to the Tyneside club could help him get a much bigger role in comparison to the two other clubs.
