Carney Chukwuemeka could leave Chelsea permanently

Carney Chukwuemeka could seek a permanent move out of Chelsea this summer, as he does not see a future at the club.

According to Football Insider, Carney Chukwuemeka could be seeking a permanent departure from Chelsea when his loan at Borussia Dortmund ends in the summer. There’s no definitive direction over his next destination, but he does not see a future at the club.

Carney Chukwuemeka has struggled for relevance since joining Chelsea, with injuries and intense competition hampering his progress. He has not made the mark at the club, as the Blues have ended up signing some expensive midfielders since the time the former Aston Villa side joined in.

In any case, he was frozen out of Enzo Maresca’s side since the start of the season and has barely been used in games. He did not make a single start in the Premier League and has since agreed to join Borussia Dortmund on a loan deal until the end of the season.

As things stand, he could end up having a successful period on the German side, and staying there could be an option. Any move will depend on the reported release clause in his deal, as per the story, as the details of the same are not clear at this point.

Chukwuemeka seeks to leave Chelsea on a permanent basis in the summer without his next destination being clear at this stage. He rejected a host of English sides in favour of Dortmund, and any big interest in the summer would depend on how he fares in Germany.

Where can Carney Chukwuemeka join?

Chelsea will be open to letting the player leave if any club comes close to paying his reported release clause. The Blues will not stand in the way, although their demands are likely to be on the higher side of things. However, the 21-year-old is likely to attract big interest, with some of the top clubs also set to make their admiration known.

Chukwuemeka could have a variety of options from the English side as well as those from abroad. His decision to join Dortmund could have been due to the need to play regularly, as the German side is known to nurture top young talents, although his permanent destination next summer could be different.
