Fulham eyeing last-ditch move for Samuel Chukwueze

Fulham will reportedly look to sign 25-year-old Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze from Serie A club AC Milan before the winter transfer window shuts down.

According to an update by reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Samuel Chukwueze is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers have been scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the winter transfer window. So, the AC Milan winger has emerged as a target, with the West London outfit approaching the Serie A outfit over a deal for the 25-year-old forward.

Samuel Chukwueze and his AC Milan misery

Samuel Chukwueze has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining AC Milan from Villarreal in July 2023. The African forward arrived at San Siro with a burgeoning reputation for being an exciting young wide attacker. However, he has not stamped his authority at the Serie A club.

The 25-year-old winger has been in and out of the starting lineup at AC Milan in the last 18 months, with his game time dwindling in the 2024/25 campaign thus far. Chukwueze has managed only 1,102 minutes of action in 25 appearances in all competitions while chipping in with four goals and one assist.

However, Chukwueze’s stock in the market remains high, with several well-known clubs across Europe setting their sights on him. Premier League outfits, in particular, are keen, with recent reports linking the Nigerian international with Arsenal and Aston Villa. However, Fulham will look to secure his services before the winter transfer window shuts down.

London calling?

Fulham’s interest in Samuel Chukwueze is understandable. Marco Silva wants more options for the wide berths in the final third, even though Alex Iwobi has been excellent under his tutelage. With Adama Traore and Harry Wilson blowing hot and cold, Fulham can do with another wide attacker.

So, several candidates, including Matias Soule, have emerged on Fulham’s radar. However, Chukwueze is also a viable target, with the West London outfit approaching AC Milan over a last-gasp move for the former Villarreal winger.

The two clubs have started negotiations over a late move for the 25-year-old Nigerian winger. It will be interesting to see if Fulham can seal the deal to sign the AC Milan attacker from the Serie A club before Monday’s winter transfer deadline.
