Marc Guehi rules out Crystal Palace exit after failed Tottenham bid; Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool plot summer move

Marc Guehi has ruled out a Crystal Palace exit on deadline day, with Tottenham, Liverpool, and Chelsea expected to reignite their interest in the summer.

Marc Guehi has made a decision on his future after Tottenham’s massive bid to sign him in the ongoing window was turned down by Crystal Palace. According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, the Eagles as well as the English international have ruled out a move away on deadline day.

Guehi’s future was a massive talking point during last summer’s window. Multiple clubs were after his signature but the Eagles were able to hold onto their defensive sensation. While Crystal Palace have not been at their best, the 24-year-old has been amongst their best players.

Spurs fail with an attempt to sign Marc Guehi

The interest in his services remains very high, and Tottenham are one of the clubs who have been keeping an eye on him for some time. With Ange Postecoglou in desperate need of reinforcement, Spurs went all out to sign the Chelsea graduate.

The North London club are struggling in the ongoing campaign, and one of the major reasons for their struggle has been an injury crisis. They have already added Kevin Danso to bolster their backline but with Radu Dragusin picking up an injury, Spurs need another centre-back and set their sights on Marc Guehi.

Tottenham went after Chelsea’s Axel Disasi, but he has turned down the proposal. As a result, they decided to knock on Crystal Palace’s door with a massive club-record bid worth £70 million. But, even this offer was not good enough to convince the Eagles to sell him mid-season.

Tottenham, Chelsea, and Liverpool remain keen

Crystal Palace have made it quite clear that they will not negotiate his departure in the ongoing window. After Spurs’ bid was turned down, Marc Guehi has also ruled out a deadline day move. While he might not be switching clubs in this window, the 24-year-old is expected to be on the move in the summer when he will only have a year left on his deal.

Tottenham, who have just failed with an attempt to sign him, will return for his signature. However, they will face competition from Liverpool as well as Guehi’s former club Chelsea. The Reds are looking at him as the next leader of their defence with Virgil van Dijk in the twilight of his career. Meanwhile, the Blues seek more quality and experience in the heart of the defence, and they feel their academy graduate could be an ideal fit for Enzo Maresca’s system.
