Tottenham plotting late move for Axel Disasi

Tottenham are considering a late move for Chelsea outcast Axel Disasi, with Aston Villa still considered the favourites to land the Frenchman.

According to Matt Law, Tottenham are now plotting a late move for Axel Disasi, with Aston Villa still considered the front-runner for the Chelsea defender. Spurs have faced some issues in the tranmsfer market with their priority targets, as they now consider a move for the Frenchman from their hated rivals.

Tottenham have been taken by surprise twice in the space of 24 hours with some of their key transfer targets. Daniel Levy was in Germany to seal a move for Mathys Tel, only for the French attacker to reject a move to north London, as the Bayern Munich star is now leaning towards a stay at the club.

Irrespective of whether Spurs are chasing an alternative before the deadline, they also wanted a new defender owing to a massive defensive injury crisis at the club. They had set sights on Fikayo Tomori, but he too has rejected Tottenham’s overtures, which has now led the club to find an alternative in the market before the deadline on Monday.

The Tomori rejection will come as a bitter blow, as it leaves very little time for Tottenham to react in the market to find an alternative. Spurs are now considering a move for 26-year-old Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, who is available to leave before the transfer window closes.

The idea of chasing Disasi could prove complicated for Tottenham, as they have not been known to do business with Chelsea in the recent past, and that might still be the case. While it’s Spurs who are keen on a Blues player, it might leave the 26-year-old with a rather tricky choice to make ahead of deciding over his future.

Aston Villa front runners for Axel Disasi

Disasi is unhappy at Chelsea and wants to join Aston Villa as per the reporting done on the situation as of now. Fabrizio Romano also stated that personal terms were agreed with Unai Emery’s side, and it was only a matter of time before the two clubs finalised a move.

Now with Tottenham’s interest in the 26-year-old defender, things could be complicated on where Disasi joins. However, given the difficulties of a business transaction between Chelsea and Spurs, Aston Villa could consider themselves as the front runners in the chase, and it’s only a matter of time before they seal the deal for Disasi.
