Chelsea lay conditions for Carney Chukwuemeka exit as Borussia Dortmund submit bid

Chelsea have reportedly set conditions for a potential Carney Chukwuemeka exit amidst interest from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

According to an update by reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are ready to part ways with Carney Chukwuemeka as we head towards the transfer deadline day. While they are open to negotiating his departure, the Blues have already laid down the conditions for a potential exit.

Enzo Maresca’s team will not entertain any loan offers with a buy option/obligation. They are only interested in a temporary loan switch, which will help the 21-year-old get some regular first-team action.

Carney Chukwuemeka came up the ranks at Aston Villa, and he made a name for himself before making the move to Chelsea in the summer of 2022. While he has had a few opportunities in their first team every now and then, the English youth international has never really had an extended run in the senior side.

He is not an important part of Maresca’s plans at this stage. The Englishman has been involved in just five games so far, and he has racked up 130 minutes of first-team action. The lack of minutes is hampering his growth as a player, and he is looking to leave Stamford Bridge for some regular game time.

The Blues are ready to sanction his departure but only on a temporary basis. They consider the 21-year-old midfield sensational an integral part of their plans going ahead. As a result, they will only entertain straightforward loan offers for his services ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

Chukwuemeka set to leave, but only on loan

Chelsea have no intentions of accepting any loan deal with a purchase option. Multiple clubs from across Europe are keen on the signature of Carney Chukwuemeka. Sister club RC Strasbourg, AS Monaco, Borussia Dortmund and two other Premier League outfits are pushing to sign him.

Since there is no shortage of interest in him, the pathway, the game time offered along with the loan fee will play a massive part in deciding where the Aston Villa graduate will spend the second half of the season. Borussia Dortmund are the ones who are pushing very hard to secure his services.

The Black and Yellows want to add more quality to their midfield, and they are interested in having Chukwuemeka in their team. The Bundesliga outfit have already sent an official loan bid to Chelsea. Both clubs remain in talks, and it will be interesting to see if they can reach a common ground before the deadline.

While negotiations between Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea continue, other clubs in the mix can complicate things for the Bundesliga outfit.
