Chelsea want to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in part-exchange deal

Chelsea will look to sign 25-year-old English midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City in a part-exchange deal this summer.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The Blues have already submitted an offer to sign the English midfielder in the summer transfer window. And they want to seal the deal in a part-exchange arrangement, with David Datro Fofana and Cesare Casadei under discussion.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and his rise at Leicester City

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has established himself as a pivotal figure for Leicester City since becoming a regular in the first-team squad. A native of Nottingham, he began his youth career at Shepshed Warriors before joining Leicester City. The Englishman progressed through the ranks at the Midlands club before making his first-team bow in January 2020.

However, Dewsbury-Hall had to wait until August 2021 to debut in the Premier League. Since then, he has been a mainstay in the middle of the park, going from strength to strength in the last three years. However, the 25-year-old reached the peak of his powers in the 2023/24 campaign.

The English midfielder contributed to 27 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net 12 times and providing 15 assists. Dewsbury-Hall’s exploits helped Leicester City return to the Premier League. However, his 18-year association with the Foxes, with Chelsea recently joining the race to sign him.

London calling?

Chelsea’s interest in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is understandable. The Blues are scouring the market for a productive midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. With Conor Gallagher facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge, the Leicester City star is a viable target for Chelsea.

The Blues have already submitted an offer to secure Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s services. The update by Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea’s bid is for a part-exchange deal, with the West London club discussing David Datro Fofana and Cesare Casadei in the arrangement.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old is keen on joining Chelsea, with his previously proposed swap move to Brighton & Hove Albion collapsing. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can convince Leicester City to sanction a part-exchange deal for Dewsbury-Hall.
