According to Diari de Girona via Sport Witness, Arsenal will have to shell out between €40-50 million to sign La Liga Golden Boot winner Artem Dovbyk. The Girona striker has a release clause in that price range, with the Spanish side unlikely to let the Ukranian depart for anything on the cheaper side.

Artem Dovbyk has had a fantastic season, with the 25-goal La Liga star clinching the Golden Boot in Spain on his debut season in the league. He arrived in a €7.5 million deal from SK Dnipro-1 last summer and has excelled in what has been an excellent season for Girona in Spain.
While the investment in the Ukranian striker has paid dividends, it has also attracted massive interest from top suitors. Chelsea are willing to consider an approach, as they are in search of a top-draw striker, although the Ukranian might not be their ultimate first choice to lead the line next season.
Arsenal are interested in Dovbyk, as Mikel Arteta continues to widen his network to search for the right frontman to help improve his squad ahead of the new season. The Gunners’ admiration is somewhat acknowledged in Spain, and now Girona are ready to demand at least €40-50 million for the striker, which also happens to be his release clause.
With the striker proving his worth to Girona last season, they are willing to sell him for that price, and not on the cheap. The report also hints that the Spanish side are not strictly holding out on the release clause for the Golden Boot winner, but will consider offers that would come close to the clause in his contract.
The Gunners are looking at different striker options
Dovbyk might have come under consideration after Arsenal failed to sign Benjamin Sesko. The Slovenian decided to sign. A year extension with RB Leipzig would have made the previous release clause redundant and at least guaranteed he would stay at the club for another season.
They might have considered other options to shore up the frontline, although there still needs to be clarity if they seek an out-and-out striker to improve their attack. A wide forward is desperately needed to bring cover for Bukayo Saka, and that might be the case in this transfer window, rather than spending big money on strikers they might not have on their priority list.
