West Ham United eyeing Victor Boniface summer swoop

West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing 23-year-old Nigerian striker Victor Boniface from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen.

According to Give Me Sport, West Ham United are lining up a summer move for Bayer Leverkusen attacker Victor Boniface. The Bundesliga champions will demand around £47 million to part ways with him in the summer transfer window.

Boniface has had an outstanding 2023/24 season with Bayer Leverkusen and he has contributed to 31 goals in all competitions. He has helped them win the Bundesliga title and reach the DFB Pokal final. Die Werkself have been phenomenal this season, and they will look to sustain this level of form next term as well. It will be interesting to see if they are willing to sell the striker in the summer.

Meanwhile, it is no secret that West Ham need a reliable goalscorer, with Boniface emerging as a viable target earlier this year. The Nigerian striker could improve them immensely. He is a proven performer in the German top flight, and he has the quality to succeed in the premier league as well.

West Ham currently have Michail Antonio and Danny Ings as their current strikers. Both players are past their peaks, and their availability is a concern as well because of persistent injury problems.

West Ham United need someone like Boniface

Signing a quality striker will be imperative for West Ham heading into the summer transfer window, and it will be interesting to see if they are ready to break the bank for the Bundesliga star. The £47 million investment might seem like a premium. But the striker has the quality to justify the outlay in the near future.

Boniface has already proven himself in the Bundesliga, and it will be interesting to see if he is open to trying out a new challenge in the Premier League now. A move to West Ham will be an exciting opportunity for him, and they have a quality manager like Julen Lopetegui in charge as well.

The 23-year-old has the physicality and the technical attributes to thrive in English football, and West Ham could offer him the platform to showcase his quality at a higher level. The Hammers will have to improve the other areas of their squad as well, and it will be interesting to see if they can afford to pay £47 million for him.
