Newcastle United in transfer tussle to sign Xavi Simons

Newcastle United are all set to battle it out with Chelsea, Manchester United, and Barcelona for the services of PSG star Xavi Simons.

According to Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness, Newcastle United have entered the race for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain attacking sensation Xavi Simons. The Dutch international has attracted a lot of attention on the back of an impressive season in the Bundesliga, with top clubs ready to battle for his services in the summer.

Simons had an exceptional spell at PSV Eindhoven last season, and he has backed it up with yet an impressive loan stint at RB Leipzig. The PSG loanee has featured in 43 matches this season, contributing towards 25 goals (10 goals, 15 assists).

Barcelona’s interest in their former youth star

On the back of his heroics in Germany, multiple top clubs want to incorporate him into their squad. Barcelona are also interested in bringing their youth player back to the club. The Catalan giants have the desire to sign him on loan ahead of next season. They feel his versatility could be of great use to them.

Simons already knows a lot about how Barcelona play their football, which makes him an ideal option and his arrival will only bolster their attack. While Barcelona are keen on his signature and the player seems interested in a return, multiple English clubs are also interested in the 21-year-old attacking midfielder.

English clubs want Xavi Simons
