Crystal Palace and 24-year-old Trabzonspor midfielder Batista Mendy are reportedly in talks over a possible move in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Turkish outlet Fotospor, Batista Mendy is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are scouring the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. And they have opened talks with the representatives of the 24-year-old Trabzonspor midfielder.
Who is Batista Mendy?
Batista Mendy has established himself as a pivotal figure for Trabzonspor this season. A native of Saint-Nazaire, the Frenchman spent his formative years in his homeland before graduating from the FC Nantes youth division. A short spell at Angers SCO followed before he moved to Turkey last summer.
Crystal Palace want a midfielder this summer
The 24-year-old has turned out 37 times thus far for Trabzonspor, chipping in with one goal and one assist while amassing nearly 3,500 minutes of game time. However, Mendy’s stint with the Turkish club might end after just one season, with Crystal Palace keen on securing his services in the summer transfer window.
Crystal Palace will delve into the market for a midfielder in the summer transfer window. Oliver Glasner has two holding midfielders in his squad, with Jefferson Lerma being decent in his debut season. However, Cheick Doucoure has spent most of the 2023/24 campaign on the sidelines due to an achilles injury.
