Crystal Palace are interested in acquiring the services of 24-year-old Trabzonspor defensive midfielder Batista Mendy.
According to Santi Aouna, Crystal Palace are looking at ways to reinforce their squad ahead of next season and they have their eyes set on Batista Mendy. The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has put in an impressive shift this season and his performances have put in on the radar of the Eagles.
Batista Mendy’s move at Trabzonspor
Mendy joined Trabzonspor last summer from Angers SCO and he seems to have taken his game to another level since making the move. The French midfielder has featured in a total of 33 matches for the Turkish outfit and he has been a consistent performer for them.
The 24-year-old has been used in three different roles throughout the ongoing campaign. He has featured as a central midfielder, a defensive midfielder and even as a centre-back when needed. Despite being used in different positions, Mendy has managed to impress one and all with his performances.
His performances in the Turkish league have resulted in a lot of interest. While his contract with Trabzonspor runs until the summer of 2027, he could still be on the move in the upcoming transfer window.
Crystal Palace pushing for Mendy’s signatures
Crystal Palace are one of the clubs keen on having the 24-year-old in their ranks. The Eagles feel he could be a great boost for their squad. Not only will his arrival reinforce their midfield, but his versatility will add more depth to their defence as well.
The Premier League outfit is quite serious about their pursuit of the French midfielder and they have already helped talks with the Turkish outfit for the services of Mendy. The deal is advancing well and if things go according to plan, he could be seen in the English top flight next season.
The Eagles have already held talks with Mendy’s representatives as they look to lure him to England. The player is keen on making a move to England and that will surely help Palace in their pursuit.
