The Blues have joined Newcastle United in the race to sign the 23-year-old goalkeeper in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Mamardashvili has a release clause worth €100 million in his contract with Valencia.
How has Giorgi Mamardashvili fared at Valencia?
Giorgi Mamardashvili has been one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga since joining Valencia. Arriving from his homeland, the Georgian international took some time to get going but has been a mainstay between the sticks for Los Che for a long time.
A shining light for Valencia amid the never-ending struggle to compete in Europe again, the 23-year-old has turned out nearly 100 times thus far for Los Che, keeping 31 clean sheets and conceding 110 goals.
