Manchester City shot-stopper Ederson could part ways with Pep Guardiola’s team amidst interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Ederson who has been one of the mainstays of the Manchester City team in recent years could end his stint at the club ahead of next season. The Brazilian international could leave the club if he receives a good enough proposal.
After making a name for himself at Benfica, Ederson made the move to Manchester City in the summer of 2017. He has been their undisputed number one for years and has played a huge part in their success in recent years.
While he remains an integral part of their plans moving ahead and still has two years left on his deal at the Manchester-based club, the 30-year-old’s future is not certain. He could look for a change in the upcoming transfer window.
Guardiola would love to have the Brazilian shot-stopper at his disposal for a few more. While reports earlier suggested that City were pushing for a new deal, it seems a lot has changed in recent weeks and the player is now considering other possibilities.
Ederson is on the wishlist of Saudi Pro League clubs
There is interest in his services from clubs in the Middle East. The Saudi Pro League have already signed world-class players from Europe in the recent past as they look to build a world-class league. Clubs from Saudi are expected to once again go big in the summer and Ederson is one of their targets.
Given the kind of financial power clubs from that part of the world have, it won’t be a surprise if they submit a massive offer for the Brazilian international. Despite his importance to the team, City are unlikely to stand in his way if they receive the right price for the 30-year-old.
Romano feels in the case of a good proposal, there is a possibility that Ederson ends up making it in the Saudi Pro League. While he can surely play at the highest level for quite a few years, a move to Saudi Arabia could represent an opportunity of great economic benefit.
